Museo del Vino e della Civiltā Contadina di Palermo


The Wine Museum of Wine and Rural Life and is the result of meticulous collecting and wiseacre of an experienced and passionate Sicilian culture that has dedicated his life to pass on, to adults and children, the story of the wine culture of Sicily. The Museum is now welcomed in the cellars of the fifteenth-century Palace of the Princes of Palagonia , built in the old quarter of the Kalsa, near Piazza Marina. The museum exhibition is the production of current wines and historic wines since exposes bottles with wines dating back to the mid-1800s and the exposure of many collections on the theme of wine (labels, corkscrews, etc.). The museum is divided into several thematic rooms: the first room includes wines from the province of Palermo and some corkscrew collections, postcards, labels, and more; the 2  room welcomes the production of the wines of the provinces of Trapani and Agrigento; the 3 room is dedicated entirely to the rural culture, the rural tools and master cooper and wine-making; the 4 room exposes the wine production of the remaining provinces, a collection of glass bottles in various shapes and exposes the tables elaborate graphics and posters pertaining to the world of wine with particular regard to publishing and advertising of the product; the 5 room is dedicated to Marsala and collects various furniture and furnishings in style Liberty ; the 6 room is dedicated to the tasting of the wines proposed by the sommelier officer visits, while the last two rooms house a small library and a shopping area.
The museum, housed in the former stables of the Palace of the Princes of Palagonia, in Via del Quattro Aprile in Palermo, allows visitors to gain an understanding of the most important Sicilian wine production, either by wine tasting, and with the aid of audiovisual and telematics instruments. The visit to the Museum, open daily (except holidays) from 09.00 to 12.00, ends, on request, with wine tasting offered by sommelier staff.

The visit to the Museum is included in Wine Tasting.
The most significant types of the island production are proposed in rotation: Bianchi di Sicilia, Rossi di Sicilia, Moscati, Marsala.

The Wine Museum is affiliated site at the Circuit of Excellence and managed by Enoteca Sicilia.
