Cosy flat situated on the upper floor of an ancient building in Siena centre, just in front of the Pinacoteca Palace, 200 metres from Duomo Square and same distance to Piazza del Campo. Just restored the flat consists of a nice living/dining room with kitchen corner, double sofa bed, one double bedroom and one bathroom with shower. The most important point is for sure the enchanting terrace that opens from the living room area on the city roofs. So even if there are 75 steps to reach the flat, it is sure you will enjoy a fabulous view. Equipped with a table, chairs and umbrella the terrace is a place to live and relax, spend a fantastic dinner just looking around the magnificent view which opens the horizon beyond the city on the surrounding hills. If you prefer, there is also a typical Osteria just at the entrance of the building, so you can also decide to go there to eat something.

Fully furnished and well equipped with air conditioning and heating system, the restoration works have mantained the original floors, ceilings and walls. The bathroom is in small mosaic tiles, includes a shower and has a double entrance from the living room and from the bedroom.

Area Information

This beautiful apartment is located just 10 minutes walking to Piazza del Campo,Siena's heart, known worldwide for the famous Palio that takes place two times every summer. Movie audiences worldwide can see Siena and the Palio in the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.The Campo is dominated by the red Palazzo Pubblico and its tower, Torre del Mangia. Along with the Duomo of Siena, the Palazzo Pubblico was also built during the same period of rule by the Council of Nine. The civic palace, built between 1297 and 1310, still houses the city's municipal offices much like Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Its internal courtyard has entrances to the Torre del Mangia and to the Civic Museum. If you feel energetic, a climb up the over 500 steps will reward you with a wonderful view of Siena and its surroundings. The Museum, on the other hand, offers some of the greatest of Sienese paintings. The Sala del Concistoro houses one of Domenico Beccafumi's best works, ceiling frescoes of allegories on the virtues of Siena's medieval government. But it is the Sala del Mappamondo and the Sale della Pace that hold the palaces's highlights: Simone Martini's huge Maestà and Equestrian Portrait of Guidoriccio da Fogliano and Ambrogio Lorenzetti's Allegories of Good and Bad Government, once considered the most important cycle of secular paintings of the Middle Ages.
