Serralunga d'Alba

The center of Serralunga, a typical medieval village, is almost intact.
From the castle walls you can observe the urban structure: the streets and houses are placed concentrically to facilitate access of the population to the castle in case of war. The castle was restored by Luigi Einaudi and today is one of the few castles visited in the Langhe. The high towers refer to the need, as well as defensive and sighting, with visual signals to communicate with other towers.

Serralunga is one of the cornerstones in the production of Barolo. The castle, with its beautiful silhouette reaching up, overlooking the village of Serralunga, which widens to his feet, with a web of streets arranged in a radial pattern. The place is very old and has nearly a thousand years of life, when at the beginning of the second millennium on this hill was built the square tower, a symbol of defense and possession. Towards the middle of the fourteenth century the actual castle was built.

The village is surrounded by famous vineyards Nebbiolo from Barolo, while in its cellars refines the "king of wines" to the delight of connoisseurs worldwide.
